Rockers is the second and final album by UK reggae group Black Jade, originally released in 1975 on their own Pre-Jade label. Following the more experimental feel of Contempo, this album leans toward a tighter, more rhythm-driven roots sound while maintaining the group’s raw, independent production style.
Recorded in London, Rockers reflects the early development of the UK reggae scene and the DIY approach adopted by local artists at the time.
This 2025 reissue on Solid Roots brings back a long out-of-print album, preserving an important piece of independent British reggae history.
